So you are months into the building product now, got an initial set of paying users (>$1000 MRR), and know that you are solving a valid problem, now what? You want to scale to 100’s of paying users right? Here are ways

  1. Creator Partnerships – This will not be easy but will be worth it. Search for your brand-relevant keywords on Youtube, TikTok, and Instagram, find account-making content in the same niche as you, and have decent reach as compared to their followers. Search for emails of these creators, you will find them in their bio or on their website. Make a list of creators whose followers are <50k and whose emails are there and shoot emails to over 500 people per platform in a few months. Yes, you heard that right, because only 5-10% of them will reply to you and even if they reply, their rates will be something that you can’t afford. But you will find 10-20 accounts that align well, and partner with them. Only 3-5 content pieces will do well, but it will be enough for the efforts. We did exactly this for Audionotes and got a creator who made us >$2500 from 2-3 reels.
  2. Newsletter Partnerships – Search for newsletters that align with your niche via Twitter, and Reddit, or you will find a lot of newsletter databases. Make a list of newsletters (>100) and start reaching out to all of them with a personalized message. Ask them to promote you with an affiliate link or a small fixed amount + Affiliate link because at this stage you will not be able to pay them (Newsletter and creators charge bomb). Only a few of them will agree. Here’s a tweet by the founder of GummySearch showing the data on how Newsletters turned out for him.
  3. SEO – This is something we have started working on at Audionotes. So assuming now you have a good number of paying users and you can identify what users are doing inside your app and their Persona. Try to identify the specific problems these users are trying to use your app for. We will use the problem first approach for writing Articles here, rather than a solution, think about what will users search on Google and come to your website for the solution. Search for 5 such long-tail keywords and head over to ahref, find a keyword cluster for every long-tail keyword, and write and publish blogs.
  4. Short form content – You can work on 2 approaches here, either make your brand account and make videos, or partner with a creator to create a branded account for you for a fixed monthly fee + commission. Here’s an exhaustive thread by David from JenniAI on how they used influencer marketing to go viral.
